Typically used in Development Finance to describe the work needed to take the project from foundations to putting plaster on the walls. First Fix works include; construction of walls, floors and ceilings, laying pipes for water and drainage, and cabling for electrical supply. Once completed the property is often referred to as being at Shell & Core stage.
